Thousands of titles are sold by the Friends through our online bookstore.
Located on the main level of the Tempe Public Library, just inside the main entrance, the Friends Bookstore is a great place for book lovers. We offer a large selection of adult and children’s books, paperbacks, magazines, and audiovisual materials at great prices.
The Friends Bookstore offers weekly special sales to those on the bookstore distribution list. If you’d like to be on that list, send an email with your name to email@example.com requesting that your name be added.
- Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday: 9:30 am – 7:00 pm
- Thursday, Friday, Saturday: 9:30 am – 4:00 pm
- Sunday: 12:00 – 4:00 pm

Each year, the Friends receive thousands of donated books which we resell to the public in our Bookstore, online, and at community book sales. Proceeds benefit the library.
We welcome your donations of gently used books. Bring them to the Friends Bookstore or use our drop box locations at:
- Whole Foods (Baseline and Rural)
- Sprouts Farmers Market (Southern and McClintock)
- Tempe Public Library Parking Lot (Rural road entrance)
We accept hardback and paperback fiction, non-fiction and classics, current magazines, audiotapes, CDs, DVDs and videos. We do not accept torn and dirty books or encyclopedias. Receipt provided upon request. If you need assistance, call 480-350-5599.
