Bookstore

Located on the main level of the Tempe Public Library, just inside the front door, the Friends Bookstore is a great place for book lovers who like to shop.  We offer a large selection of adult and children’s books, paperbacks, magazines, and audiovisual materials at great prices.

Be sure to visit the bookstore regularly as materials are ever changing. The Bookstore is staffed by helpful and friendly volunteers. Find out more about becoming a volunteer.

Bookstore Hours

  • Mon 10am – 4pm
  • Tues, Wed, Thurs 10am – 7pm
  • Fri 11am – 2pm
  • Sat 11am – 4pm
  • Sun 12pm – 4pm

Donate

Each year, Friends receives thousands of donated books which we resell to the public in our Bookstore, on-line, and at community book sales.  All proceeds benefit the Tempe Public Library and many books are donated to other non-profit organizations.

How to Donate Books

Bring them to the Friends Bookstore at the Tempe Public Library or use our Drop Box locations at:

We accept hardback and paperback fiction, non-fiction and classics, current magazines, audiotapes, CDs, DVDs and videos. We do not accept torn and dirty books or encyclopedias. Receipt provided upon request. If you need assistance, call (480) 350-5599.
