Our mission is to promote and support the Tempe Public Library’s rich resources in order to encourage lifelong learning and facilitate community involvement.
Our primary goals include:
- Promoting the Tempe Public Library as a valued community resource by maintaining an active and visible presence in the community.
- Supporting the Library by raising funds for activities, acquisitions and projects over and above the library’s budgeted resources.
- Facilitating community involvement and providing meaningful opportunities for volunteers.
The Friends of the Tempe Public Library is governed by a volunteer board that meets monthly to discuss operations, fund-raising, Library and community support. Standing and ad hoc committees meet as needed to explore organizational issues. Board members are elected to one-year, renewable terms.
