Mission

Our mission is to promote and support the Tempe Public Library’s rich resources in order to encourage lifelong learning and facilitate community involvement.

Goals

Our primary goals include:

  1. Promoting the Tempe Public Library as a valued community resource by maintaining an active and visible presence in the community.
  2. Supporting the Library by raising funds for activities, acquisitions and projects over and above the library’s budgeted resources.
  3. Facilitating community involvement and providing meaningful opportunities for volunteers.

Governance

The Friends of the Tempe Public Library is governed by a volunteer board that meets monthly to discuss operations, fund-raising, Library and community support. Standing and ad hoc committees meet as needed to explore organizational issues. Board members are elected to one-year, renewable terms.
